Nintendo wants you to write Wii games

Whoah.  I was expecting this, but not for another year or so. For those who don't follow links, Nintendo are releasing WiiWare, following Microsoft's lead in freely available console-game creation kits which MS have forged with XNA Studio.

Depending on how long the environment takes to be released, this might considerably lengthen the lifespan of the Wii as a device.
